In the 1970s and 1980s, a new interest in Iranian carpets, especially Gebe, emerged in Europe. It was originally woven by nomadic tribes for personal use. It captivated Western consumers with its rustic texture techniques and simple, abstract designs. This attention and interest fueled the carpet industry’s ability to adapt to evolving market demands.
